Spring Applied Brakes for Elevator Tractor

When the elevator stops, there is no current passing through the traction motor and the coil of the electromagnetic elevator brake. At this time, since there is no attraction between the electromagnetic cores, the spring pushes the armature and presses against the friction assembly, generating torque and ensuring that the motor does not rotate.
When the traction motor is energized, the coil in the electromagnet is energized, attracting the armature, the rotor is released and the elevator can run.
The elevator brake is a friction brake that generates two-way electromagnetic thrust when power is applied, separating the braking mechanism from the rotating part of the motor. When power is turned off, the electromagnetic force disappears. When the power is disconnected, a friction brake is formed by the applied brake spring pressure.
